Summer Season 2025
Starting Thursday, May 29, 2025, the Rosskopf hiking area in Sterzing opens for the summer season 2025! The Rosskopf cable car operates daily from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Hikers will find a fantastic alpine landscape on the high plateau at around 2,000 meters above sea level, featuring cozy alpine huts and a wonderful panoramic view over the South Tyrolean Wipptal. From Rosskopf/Monte Cavallo, Sterzing's local mountain, there is a unique panoramic view that stretches from the Zillertal Alps to the Dolomites, the Sarntal Alps, and the Stubai Alps. Numerous hiking trails and summit tours, ranging from easy to challenging, are available. And the best part: In just 12 minutes, the cable car transports you from Sterzing’s vibrant city life to the tranquillity of the mountain landscape.
